Thiruvalluvar Statue
In Kanyakumari, this solitary Thiruvalluvar statue stands amidst the mighty sea, doing the udaghosha of the Absolute!
The tip of peninsula where India’s land ends is the meeting place of three oceans: the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. The confluence of these three places is also referred as “Thriveni Sangam.”
Watching sunrise and sunset is quite a spectacle here. Watching waves merge into the mighty ocean quietens the mind and a deep serenity settles upon one’s whole being. One starts ruminating…
As waves, we find the majesty of vast ocean quite daunting.
As waves, we live a life of constant strife and struggle.
When with Divine Grace the understanding dawns,
that waves are ocean only, one is freed from the sense of limitation.
Life becomes a self-sport, a swa-lila.
Ultimately, neither the waves nor the ocean exist. Water is all there is, all the way.
Knowing thus, one is freed from one’s wave-hood.
To realize this experientially is to live in perennial bliss.
Sages call it Moksha, Mukti or Nirvana.
This is available to all, right here, right now.
Reclaim your status of Immortal Self and be abundantly blessed.
