It is wonder of wonders that fulfillment or happiness is our intrinsic nature; we keep frantically looking for it outside. Self-knowledge puts an end to this life of relentless becoming by revealing a Self that is ever full, whole, and complete (pūraṇa). Anchored in Self-knowledge, fulfillment becomes more a matter of being than having, more a matter of belonging than belongings.

This journey to “Fulfillment,” which is cultivated from within, is not about “acquiring” anything new; it is a matter of “re-discovering” and “re-cognizing” what we already have–attaining the already attained (prāptasya prāpti). It is voyage of inner discovery.

We are the fulfillment we long to be. It is indeed our essential nature. It currently seems covered due to self-ignorance. When we dis-cover it within through Self-knowledge, we then find it everywhere.

Self-knowledge reveals the truth of one’s essential Self which is non-dual—one without a second (ekamevāditiyam). The wisdom of oneness reveals one’s kinship with all existence. This wisdom flowers into compassion whereby one acts naturally and spontaneously for the good of others.

Self-knowledge integrated with life and blossoming into the good of all is the path to fulfillment.
