“तुलसी” ममता राम सौं, समता सब संसार

राग ना रोष ना दोष दुःख, दास भये भव पार ~दोहावली 94

O Tulsi! Develop love for the Divine, and equanimity towards the world;

Unattached, anger-free, unsullied, and without sorrow; the poor in spirit

cross the ocean of conditioned existence, saṃ̣̇sā̄̄ra.

कुल्ली बिचो नी यार लभ लै
दिवा बाल के मिटा लै हनेरा
Search the Beloved with in the cave of your heart;
Banish the darkness by lighting up the inner lamp.

खुसरो सरीर सराय है क्यों सोवे सुख चैन ।
कूच नगारा सांस का, बाजत है दिन रैन ।।
O Khusro! This body verily is an inn; how can you sleep peacefully

when the drum of departure beats incessantly day and night?!!!
